EP230 Empathy vs Accountability
From Mindset Matters💯 by Amy Fordyce
February 26, 2026 · 11 min · Season 1 · Episode 230
About this episode
The episode discusses the balance between empathy and accountability in helping others without enabling bad behavior.
WE have all done this. We feel bad for someone's situation and want to help but if we help, we enable them to continue with their bad behavior or disease. But we feel sad and want to help, but if we don't then we feel like a piece of shit. IT'S A NEVER-ENDING CYCLE. I see it over and over and over. Quit trying to fix something that wasn't broken by you. I KNOW IT'S HARD. Remember, we all go through struggles but ultimately, you are only responsible for your own intentions and your own actions. Let's be clear, I'm not saying DON'T EVER HELP SOMEONE. That is not what I'm saying.... We are adults I think you understand. Thank you for this sponsor.
