About this episode
The episode discusses Song Yadong's knockout victory over Umar Nurmagomedov at UFC Shanghai and its implications for both fighters.
The year of the upset keeps rolling on. On Saturday, Song Yadong added another to the long list of epic upsets in 2026 when he brutally knocked out Umar Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC Shanghai. A 6-to-1 favorite heading into the fight, the loss is devastating for Nurmagomedov, but transformational for Song, who is now right near the top of the list when it comes to the next bantamweight title shot. Following Saturday’s Fight Night, MMA Fighting’s Jed Meshew and Alexander K. Lee react to Song’s epic upset win and what it means for both men moving forward. Additionally, Jed and AK discuss the post-fight collision between Song and Usman Nurmagomedov, chat about Denise Gomes’ big win over Yan Xiaonan in the co-main event, talk about the rest of the event, answer viewer questions, and more.
