Madrid, Spain – Spain’s national football team returned home as World Cup champions and received a massive welcome from supporters during an open-top bus parade through the capital. Ground footage shows the team’s open-top “REYES DEL MUNDO” bus moving through central Madrid as players stand on the upper deck holding the trophy. National Police officers on foot, in armored vans with flashing blue lights, and on horseback escort the convoy through streets packed with cheering fans. Hundreds of thousands of supporters lined the route toward Plaza de Cibeles to celebrate Spain’s second World Cup title after their extra-time victory over Argentina. Aerial footage shows the double-decker bus traveling through streets filled with red-and-yellow flags. Mounted police and patrol vehicles form a tight security escort as the massive crowd surrounds the celebration under bright afternoon sun.
