In Part 5 of our Apostles’ Creed series, we explored the powerful declaration, “I believe in the communion of the saints.” This message unpacked what it truly means to be God’s holy people, reminding us that “saints” are not spiritual elites or deceased figures to be prayed to, but ordinary believers made holy through the finished work of Jesus Christ. Through His blood, we are given a new identity and legal standing before God, united as His people. The sermon highlighted the biblical meaning of “communion” as deep fellowship, shared life, and spiritual partnership, rooted in the example of the early church in Acts 2. Because of the cross, every barrier between people has been broken down, and believers from every background are brought together by one Spirit, one faith, and one Father. The message challenged us to move beyond merely believing in Christian community to actively living it out by prioritising fellowship, protecting unity, and practicing genuine communion through shared lives, reconciliation, and breaking bread together.
