The Overview Effect: What Ephesians Wants To Do To You On Christmas Eve, 1968, astronaut Bill Anders was orbiting the moon aboard Apollo 8 when he looked out the window and saw something he wasn’t expecting — Earth. Hanging in the blackness of space, fragile and luminous, rising over the lunar horizon. He grabbed his camera and took what would become one of the most famous photographs in history. Later, reflecting on the mission, Anders said something remarkable: “We came all this way to explore the Moon, and the most important thing is that we discovered the Earth.” Astronauts call it the overview effect.
