Don Fischer Download Original Airdate: July 19, 2020 Wisdom 12:13, 16-19 | Romans 8:26-27 | Matthew 13:24-43 or 13:24-30   Show favor, oh Lord, to your servants and mercifully increase the gifts of your grace that, made fervent in hope, faith and charity, they may be ever watchful in keeping commands.  Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever, amen.   This parable is fascinating to me, because I worked with it for a long time without reading the final part of this set of readings, which is optional to read or not, which is interesting, why the church would make it optional.  But the way it’s interpreted for the people who listened to it at the time was that there were people who are good, and there are people who are bad.  God makes the good people, and the evil one makes the bad people.    And the problem is that the bad people are — the reason they’re bad is because they are caught in something.  It’s called evil, and the best description I can give you…
