Then Came Jesus

About this episode

The episode discusses the inadequacy of religious rituals in addressing the spiritual needs of the human heart, emphasizing the transformative power of Jesus' sacrifice.

There is something deeply wrong with the human heart, and no amount of religious performance, achievement, or effort can fix it. In Mark 7, Jesus confronted the Pharisees not because they were irreligious, but because they had replaced genuine heart transformation with outward ritual. He made clear that defilement does not come from the outside in. It comes from within. Every person is born into a condition of spiritual need that only God can address. No career, relationship, status, or religious routine will satisfy what only Christ can meet. What every high priest attempted through ritual and preparation, Jesus accomplished completely on the cross. He who knew no sin became sin so that we might receive what we could never earn. Rest in what He has already done.
