About this episode
This episode discusses the Netflix show 'Boots', which explores the challenges faced by a young gay man in Marine basic training during the summer of 1990.
Welcome to today's episode of Queerly Popular! Today, we are talking about the 2025 Netflix show Boots starring Miles Heizer. The show is based off of the book The Pink Marine by Greg Cope White. The show is about a young gay man, Cameron Cope, who goes into Marine basic training in the summer of 1990. It's not a romance or a coming out story, but the story of someone who is trying to get by in a space where they can't be out. It's a great show, but not one that really caught my interest. Our next episode, on March 19th, will be about the movie Twinless starring Dylan O'Brien. As always, please rate and review the podcast on whatever platform you listen to it on.
