In this week’s one-hour show, co-host David Lloyd speaks with our regular commentator, SWANA Collective's Hamoud Salhi about developments in the SWANA Region, especially in the Gulf, with the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran continuing to remain ambiguous and volatile. David and Hamoud also discuss the upcoming elections in Algeria and the success of Northern African football teams in the World Cup. In our second segment, David follows up on our interview in January with Professor Sang Hea Kil, the first tenured faculty who was fired by San Jose State University for her support of the campus’ SJP and their protests against the Israeli genocide. Her firing was overturned last week in arbitration and we speak to her about the implications of that decision for herself and the broader fight against campus repression; indeed a win worth celebrating and hopefully a precedent setting one. Finally, David talks with Zeiad Abbas Shamrouch, Executive Director of the Middle East Children’s Alliance, for an update on the ongoing dire situation in Gaza as Israel continues to violate the ceasefire on a daily basis and the genocide passes 1000 days.
