He has spent his life as a teacher of many people in many places, including his work as Senior Fellow for Vocation and the Common Good for the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust , and the Economics of Mutuality Alliance . He was the founding principal for the Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation and Culture . And Steve continues his work as Senior Fellow for the Institute for Marketplace Transformation . Anybody who is a regular listener to this podcast will have heard the name “Steven Garber” mentioned a lot. Not only was he Bob’s doctoral mentor, but he has also influenced many of our previous guests. Steve is the author of some fantastic books, the latest being Hints of Hope: Essays on Making Peace with the Proximate (Paraclete Press, 2026).
