Pamela Colloff, reporter for ProPublica and the New York Times Magazine, joins the show to discuss her debut book, Catch the Devil: A True Story of Murder, Deception, and Injustice on the Gulf Coast (Knopf). The book examines Paul Skalnik, a con man and jailhouse informant whose testimony helped convict dozens of people, including James Dailey, a Vietnam veteran sent to death row for a 1985 murder despite the absence of physical evidence against him.
