Frequent villain portrayer Ray Wise guest stars as Arturis in a strong performance. Also, James accidentally makes up a new word in this episode for a single Borg living amongst humans. Abongst? Hope and Fear Janeway has been battling so long to decode the Starfleet message we received several episodes ago that she is too eager to accept an easy answer when a brainiac alien turns up with one. Janeway remains skeptical but the crew gets their hopes way up when it appears that Starfleet has sent a ship to save them; but the sinister truth is hiding behind that big-headed alien Arturis.
