Over her 28 years of homeschooling, one of the main reasons Jennifer has seen families quit is the fear that their child will not get the education they need. While homeschooling is not for everyone, we're here today to unpack the lie that your child is guaranteed to get a better education in a more formal system. Children want to learn. They are naturally curious, capable of information retention, and interested in the world around them. So often the formal education that we think is "safe" offers little in the way of real life skills, kills curiosity, and creates performers, not learners. Instead, we talk about raising whole children, whose lives are shaped by their values, not their education level because education can always be acquired while values must be instilled from a young age. Practically, everything your child needs to know academically can be acuired in a 100 hours of education.
