How Long Will You Mourn for Saul? Question: Have you ever been stuck in the previous season of your life? Answer: This sermon is to encourage you that God always have something special for you in the future if you are willing to let go and let God. 📖 1 Samuel 16:1-13 The story of Saul teaches us one of the most important lessons in leadership, faith, and spiritual growth. Saul was Israel’s first king, chosen after the people rejected God as their King and demanded a human king like the surrounding nations. Although Saul was God’s choice within His permissive will, he began well but finished badly because of repeated disobedience and insecurity. Throughout this series we learned that God has always desired to be His people’s King. We saw Saul seek God’s counsel while searching for lost donkeys, unite Israel, rescue the people of Jabesh-Gilead, show mercy to his opponents, and lead under the power of the Holy Spirit. However, we also saw how insecurity gradually corrupted his leadership.
