This episode features a variety of metal music from different bands and genres, highlighting their unique styles and contributions to the scene.
0:24-9:46 ETHEREAL DARKNESS (Belgium) The Cycle — Vocal anguish accompanies melodic doom and atmospheric, melodic, incredibly groovy black. 11:03-17:01 DECIPHER (Greece) Bound To The Wheel — Debut black metal shimmer that is stark with raw death blast beats and thrashy riffs. 17:44-21:46 THE SILVER (Philly) Memorias — My #1 album of 2021. Momentous heart-ripping progressive doomy black metal. 22:12-29:17 EGREGORE (CAN) Craven Acts of Desperate Men — Rumbling grumbling death that gallops to thrash and proggy density. 29:35-36:31 GUTVOID (CAN) Of Smothering Sea — Psychedelic, proggy death doom with soaring, dynamic instrumentals ending in a crushing death. 36:54-43:58 IRON FIRMAMENT (WA) The Coast Of Worlds — Moody, isolated black, slowing the pace to allow it to linger. Alien vocals are fantastically grotesque. 44:22-52:34 NEUROSIS (Oakland) Seething And Scattered — Fucking Neurosis with Aaron Turner. 52:53-57:29 PROTRUSION (IN) Morbid Mortality — Absurd vocals and decomposing death with shiny guitar solos. 57:59-END GAEREA (Portugal) Uncontrolled — Gaerea went too "core" on this. Still one of the best live bands out there.
