The family discusses it in hushed, measured tones, and eventually everyone agrees that things are working out quite nicely, thank you very much. The chapter winds down with the March family gathered together, content and safe, as the fire crackles softly in the hearth. It is, in short, a perfectly pleasant and deeply unremarkable ending to a long day.
