About this episode
Franklin learns about true friendship and appreciation after losing his handmade valentines.
In the children's book Franklin's Valentines, the titular turtle meticulously prepares handmade cards for his friends, only to lose them in the snow while rushing to the bus. Discovering his bag is empty during the school party, a devastated Franklin learns from his teacher and peers that true friendship is not defined by material gifts. Despite his initial sorrow, he receives many thoughtful valentines from his classmates, which helps him realize how much he is valued by his community. Inspired by their kindness, Franklin spends the following evening creating replacement surprises to show his gratitude. He ultimately learns a lesson about resilience and appreciation while ensuring his new gifts are safely secured for the next day.
