
Dr. Janeen Blythe discusses her experience as a geriatric specialist physical therapist and her approach to rehabilitation for older adults.
Dr. Janeen Blythe is a board-certified geriatric specialist physical therapist who has been practicing and teaching for the past 8 years. She graduated from the University of Florida Doctor of Physical Therapy Program in May of 2018. Since graduation, she has been practicing in a variety of settings (short term rehab, long term care, and outpatient) with older adult patients. Dr. Blythe has worked with a variety of populations including patients with oncological diagnoses, orthopedic injuries of the lower extremities and back (both acute and overuse), and neurological diagnoses. She specializes in incorporating function as early as possible, often having patients interests such as gardening, ballroom dancing, and golfing incorporated into the exercise choices to create relevance and meaning. Dr. Blythe has also been teaching with the University of Florida DPT program since her graduation for a variety of courses related to therapeutic exercise and health and promotion wellness.
