About this episode
Wayne Waldron shares his journey from a spontaneous marathon runner to a top ultramarathon competitor, discussing running techniques and coaching.
Wayne Waldron signed up to his first ever marathon on a whim a few years ago. He finished the race in under three hours. A time that many runners couldn’t achieve with months of training behind them, never mind with one weeks notice like Wayne had. And he did it all in a pair of Nike Air Max. Since that first race, Wayne has gone on to become one of the country’s best Ultramarathon runners, getting a sub 3 hours 50 km with just seconds to spare. He talked about how he doesn’t always agree with Strava and posting every run and explained why you should be able to sing while you’re running and how important it is to follow a running plan. And look, if he can coach Terence back to running after literal brain surgery, we know his advice is worth listening to.
