✨ Welcome back to Episode 4 of our special series: பாரதியாரின் புதிய ஆத்திச்சூடி கதைகள் (Bharathiyar's Puthiya Aathichudi Stories)! ✨ In today’s grand Kutti Kathai , we are traveling back in time to the glorious Chola era in Thanjavur! Meet Chezhiyan, a wealthy and highly successful sea merchant. As he loads his massive ship ( Naavai ) with precious silks and perfumes to trade in Kadaram (Malaysia), a poor farmer hands him a few handmade wooden toys to sell. Chezhiyan promises to help him. But right in the middle of the ocean, a terrifying storm (புயல்) strikes! The waves rise like mountains, and the sailors yell that they must throw cargo overboard to stop the ship from sinking. In a moment of crisis, Chezhiyan makes a shocking choice: he throws his own expensive silk into the sea but safely protects the poor farmer's wooden toys! Why would a rich merchant sacrifice his own wealth for a poor man's toys?
