Meta AI Disaster: How Hackers Stole High-Profile Accounts

Attackers were taking over Instagram accounts by matching a target's region with a VPN, starting a password reset, and simply asking Meta's AI support chatbot to change the account's email...that was the entire attack. It ran in the wild since at least February, compromising thousands of accounts before high-profile victims (a Barack Obama White House account, the Space Force Chief Master Sergeant) made it impossible to ignore.
