CNN political voice Scott Jennings, a former WHAS Radio news anchor, joined midday host Leland Conway to discuss misguided media and social media conspiracy theories related to Senator Mitch McConnell's recent hospitalization. Millions of online commentators were assuring each other that McConnell is dead, or brain dead and being kept alive to bypass Governor Andy Beshear's potential to call a special session forcing a vote for replacement. After weeks of unanswered questions, McConnell's office finally released a full medical update and a photo of the senator and his wife Elaine Chao in a Washington D.C. rehab facility. The McConnell team released details of his June 14, 2026 fall and the medical diagnosis reports. Both hardcore Liberals and MAGA stalwarts tried to poke holes in the statements and the photo, claiming McConnell is dead and the photo was either a 2023 reissue or A.I. doctored.
