Andrew McCarthy sits down with me to talk about his fatherhood journey. His latest book, Who Needs Friends, Andrew explores his cross-country trip as he explores male friendship and loneliness. The book and road trip was inspired by his son, Sam asking him if he has any friends. Andrew was determined to see how men view friendship and the different stereotypes men feel they need to have when it comes to friendship. In addition we talk about how he wants to be a great role model to his kids about maintaining healthy relationships with friends. Lastly, we finish the interview with the Fatherhood Quick Five. He is an award winning travel writer and served for a dozen years as an editor-at-larger at National Geographic Traveler magazine. Andrew has directed scores of television shows, but is best known as an actor for the past four decades, appearing is such iconic films as Pretty in Pink and Less Than Zero.
