Guest: Dr. Adjoa Smalls-Mantey is a physician-scientist, writer, medical media consultant, and organizational leader. She conducted HIV viral immunology research and completed her doctoral degree at the University of Oxford. She later earned her medical degree from Columbia University and completed her psychiatry residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital where she served as chief resident. Afterwards, she completed her public psychiatry fellowship at Columbia University, working on mental health policy at the New York State Office of Mental Health. Dr. Smalls-Mantey is also certified in lifestyle medicine. She currently practices emergency psychiatry in New York City and is Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She is president of the New York County Psychiatric Society. Within the American Psychiatric Association she has served on the Presidential Work Group for Lifestyle Psychiatry and is a member of the Council for Communications.
