About this episode
The episode discusses Keelon Russell's new role as Alabama's starting quarterback and the implications for the team's success this season.
Keelon Russell is Alabama football's new starting quarterback, now what comes next for the Crimson Tide's dynamic QB? AJ McCarron, Trent Richardson and Chris Stewart discuss what set Russell apart from Austin Mack, the tension that can come from a tight QB battle and the importance of getting behind the Tide's new QB1. AJ also goes in-depth on what Russell brings to the table and the importance of protecting the football, while Trent shares what he's heard about the young QB’s “human joystick” ability. Then, the guys get into the true key to Alabama’s success this season: the offensive line. With playmakers all over the field, AJ and Trent explain why the Tide will only go as far as the big guys up front can take them. Plus, they react to the latest NCAA chaos as TE Dae’Quan Wright is set to join LSU after being waived by the Browns. They also shout out Trent’s son, TJ, for an impressive varsity debut as an eighth grader and reveal who the real glue guy was in Tuscaloosa during the Nick Saban era.
