The footage adds to a broader pattern of failures that night. Epstein had been left alone after his cellmate was removed, despite orders that he should always have one, and additional bedding materials were left in his cell, which he later used in his death. Investigators previously found the guards falsified records to make it appear they conducted checks they actually skipped.
