Josh Jacobs’ Uncertain Timeline & What It Means for the Packers
About this episode
The episode discusses Josh Jacobs' placement on the NFL commissioner’s exempt list and its implications for the Green Bay Packers.
On The Homer Hour, Steve “Homer” True and former Packers offensive lineman Bryan Bulaga try to make sense of Josh Jacobs being placed on the NFL commissioner’s exempt list. Bulaga explains how the list works, why Jacobs can continue getting paid while being unable to practice or play, and why the lack of a defined timetable makes this situation so unusual. Homer and Bulaga debate how long Jacobs could remain away from the team, what could ultimately lead to a suspension or reinstatement, and how missing practice could impact his football conditioning even if he’s eventually cleared to return. Plus, they discuss why the Packers’ quick trade for Kaleb Johnson suggests Green Bay was preparing for the possibility of beginning the season without its starting running back.
