About this episode

Isabel Brown discusses the trend of Gen Z women quitting birth control with college students at a leadership summit.

Over the past few years, mainstream media coverage has EXPLODED with shocking statistics re: the number of Gen Z women throwing their birth control pills away–and I’m just one of them. Branded by the New York Times as an “anti birth control advocate,” I have been incredibly vulnerable in sharing my story as to “why I quit birth control,” but I’m not the only one. Across party lines and every social background in America, young women everywhere are ditching the pill & other forms of hormonal birth control as we dive deeper into the conversation about Big Pharma’s real impact on our lives. Last weekend, I sat down with four current college students at Turning Point USA’s Women’s Leadership Summit to hear from them about their birth control journey–prescribed as young as 12 years old for reasons you probably wouldn’t have guessed, now joining the exodus from the pill alongside countless other women in our generation who have had enough. Together, we discuss acne and painful periods, PCOS and hormone-related struggles, and what led all of us to stop taking birth control entirely. Have you been part of the movement to quit taking hormonal birth control? What’s your “why I quit” story…
