About this episode
Jessica discusses the impact of celebrity status on the perception and treatment of sex workers.
Jessica explains how the celebrity and influencer status afforded to some sex workers risks the marginalisation of sex workers being believed and actioned upon. If some sex workers are being flown first class around the world, invited onto commercial television stations, offered book deals, etc, it's really hard to convince the general public that sex workers are often being treated prejudicially and face significant struggles.
