About this episode

The episode continues the discussion on intimate partner violence with insights from Nyarai Chidemo.

As we close out the month of March, we continue a very important conversation. Last week, we opened the door to a powerful and necessary discussion on intimate partner violence IPV. We explored the silent nature of this issue, thedynamics of power and control, and the sobering statistics that remind us just how widespread it truly is. Intimate partner violence is complex. It goes deeper than what we see and far too often, it remains misunderstood and overlooked. IPV remains a pervasive global issue with high, and in some regions increasing, rates as of late 2025 and early 2026. Roughly 1 in 3 (30%) women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual IPV in their lifetime. So today, we take the conversation further. We’re honored to welcome back Nyarai Chidemo of the Women’s Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre of Durham, joining us once again to help unpack the deeper layers of this issue, bringing clarity, insight, and a voice to those who may still be suffering in silence.
