In Part 1 of Army veteran Scott Donaldson’s story, Scott discusses how he realized he needed to make a change in his life before continuing down a troubled path. That decision ultimately led him into the United States Army and the beginning of an incredible military career. After joining the Army, Scott trained to become a tank driver, only to arrive at his first duty station and discover he would not even be performing the job he originally trained for. Fortunately for Scott, things quickly changed throughout his next several assignments, where he became heavily involved in armored operations and tank competitions. Scott eventually became part of the team that won the prestigious Canadian Army Trophy (CAT), the premier international NATO tank gunnery competition. Their victory marked the first time a team from the United States had ever won the competition, making it a historic achievement in Army armor history.
