The Minnesota fraud empire is falling as fraudsters are now being held accountable for the crimes they have committed against the US taxpayer! In a major DOJ Health Care Fraud Takedown announced yesterday, 15 defendants have been charged in schemes totaling over $90 million across seven Medicaid programs. This includes the largest autism fraud bust in American history — operators allegedly paid kickbacks to parents, issued questionable diagnoses, and billed for therapies that were never provided (or were given by unqualified people) to vulnerable kids on the spectrum. One scheme alone hit $46.6 million. They also hammered housing stabilization services for the homeless and disabled, where costs exploded from a few million to over $100 million due to fake claims and unprovided services.
