About this episode

Prim discusses the lessons learned from playing Mahjong, the importance of the hostess, and the history of Mahjong tiles.

Some weeks the whole game teaches the same quiet lesson, and this week it is this: to be watched, at the right table, is to be cared for. Prim opens with news from our own table, the Order's first live group game played all together on a screen, and the small graces that make a seat worth keeping. She defends the hostess no one remembers to thank, coasts through floating tiles built to follow you to the pool, and closes on the butterscotch sets that have been quietly keeping the record of this game since the 1940s.
