About this episode
The episode discusses the film '1941' by Steven Spielberg, exploring its comedic elements and execution.
We continue our Steven Stinker's month with another one from his collection of flops, 1941! A movie he had made fairly soon after Jaws. Which is a curious choice considering this movie starts with a Jaws visual gag. It's a choice. Just like making a choice to parody 1941 in America. Not always the funniest of times then. You can consider most of these choices to be "funny" ideas on paper, but executed poorly. For example Christopher Lee as a Nazi and Slim Pickins as a California bumpkin stuck in a U-Boat sounds hilarious! But in reality it's kind of odd. Plus don't forget about the literal ninjas featured in the movie. Don't forget to join our Discord for movie nights and additional podcast discussions!
