In this episode Brendan is joined by Dr. Lauren Capozzi to discuss all about lymphedema. Dr. Lauren Capozzi is a Cancer Physiatrist and Provincial Medical Director of Cancer Rehabilitation with Supportive Care at BC Cancer. She holds a PhD in Health and Exercise Psychology, is a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, and Co-Founder of Thrive Health—an organization focused on training fitness professionals to support individuals with cancer through exercise. Lauren’s clinical and research work is dedicated to improving function and quality of life for people facing cancer. Her research focuses on screening for physical impairments, triaging patients into appropriate rehabilitation services, and implementing sustainable rehabilitation and exercise programs across the cancer care continuum. She also collaborates on national and international initiatives to tailor rehabilitation and exercise resources for underserved populations. Lauren is passionate about creating active, person-centered models of survivorship care— while maintaining an active lifestyle.
