The episode discusses Jaron Ennis's victory over Xander Zayas and his potential as the future face of boxing.
Jaron Ennis just proved to the world that he is a top 10 Pound For Pound fighter in the world. Boots defeats Xander Zayas by TKO in the 7th round to become the new WBO & WBA Junior Middleweight Champion. The fight saw Boots get off to a hot start when he knocked down Zayas in the first round with a straight left. However Ennis would end up letting his foot off the gas in the 3rd round when Zayas started gaining momentum even rocking Boots. Despite the back and forth exchanges Boots would kill the momentum with an inside right uppercut flooring Zayas in the 6th round for the second time in the fight. Zayas would eventually take a knee in the 7th round after a barrage of punches from Boots and the corner would call the fight. Now with Boots improving to 36-0 and becoming a 2-division champion, a bid on the Pound For Pound List seems certain but the real debate starts. Is Jaron “Boots” Ennis the future of boxing? Tune in as The Puncher’s Point breaks down the key moments in the fight along with what is next for both fighters as we give our take on the future for both men.
