I am Islamophobic, not because of the brutal descriptions and bloodthirsty directives easily found in the Koran, but because terrorists of the Islamic faith have perpetrated thousands of attacks that have killed tens of thousands of innocent victims since the World Trade Center attacks of September 11th, 2001. In other words, it is not words in holy books that tell us about a faith, it is the behavior of its adherents. I am willing to acknowledge that as an outsider, I don't understand the full implications of ancient texts. But I do understand murderous behavior. Candace Owens ignores the reality that nobody walking the streets of Rome, London, or Sydney, need fear being knifed or shot by a briefcase-wielding Jewish accountant. Instead, she focuses on, not Jewish holy texts, no, on a discredited book written by a 19th century anti-Semitic academic fraud whose book tells of horrors in Jewish holy texts but which in fact do not exist.
