When not designing quilts, and running a really fun and successful Curated Pattern Bundles project, Cheryl works writing patents for an industrial fabric design company. We talk about the building blocks of pattern writing, design inspiration, and what, if anything, pattern designers can do to protect their intellectual property. We talked a little about what got us into quilting, and Cheryl said something that really resonated with me: she wanted to make something that couldn’t be unmade.
