About this episode
Meghan Murphy interviews Gord Magill about the decline of the trucking industry and the misconceptions surrounding it.
The trucking industry is being killed, and you’re being lied to about it. Once a booming industry and a good job for working class men, trucking has become dangerous—filled with undertrained, underskilled, easily exploitable drivers. We are told there is a shortage of drivers, making it necessary to hire untrained immigrants who are paid much less then the experienced drivers who have been on the road for years, but it isn’t true. Gord Magill comes from a long line of truckers, and has been in the industry for his whole life. He is the man behind Autonomous Truck(er)s on Substack and author of “End of the Road: Inside the War on Truckers.” Meghan Murphy speaks with him about what’s happened to the industry and why it matters. The Same Drugs is on X @thesamedrugs_ . Meghan Murphy is on X…
