While there is no such thing as a "safe space" on the internet, the fact that two highly visible Black women content creators have been run off social media for the same thing - misogynoir and vitriolic abuse. Misogynoir in media has always existed however the fact it is increasingly prevalent on social media speaks volumes to the ways many use social media to spew anti-Blackness, racism, and hate to Black women on the internet in a time where we have more control of our image and narrative.
