Commish dives into the archives to give you the loss by loss breakdown on how Columbia University's 44-game losing and 47-game winless streak happened. The 1984 Columbia Lions lost their prolific record-setting quarterback, John Witkowski, but Head Coach Bob Naso returned for a fifth year. Using a converted free safety as quarterback, the Lions opened their new Wien Stadium to a sellout crowd but couldn't live up to the high expectations of the new stadium and packed crowds. They had some close calls, but breakdowns in special teams, offense, and defense happened all at inopportune times. Their losing streak continued to grow and grow.
