State senator Charles Perry is vowing to introduce another bill next legislative session to fully ban THC in Texas, and that's leaving a lot of business owners feeling even more uncertain about their future as Estella Castro owns Austinite Cannabis Co on Cesar Chavez and she tells cbs austin she opened her store soon after state lawmakers approved new hemp laws back in 2019 and she says there have been ongoing concerns since last year when lawmakers first began targeting the THC industry, another protest was held yesterday demanding that city and county officials do everything they can to keep immigration officials out of Austin neighborhoods, protesters rallied outside of the Travis County commissioners court building urging elected officials to protect illegal immigrants in areas where they say there has been an uptick in ice activity, and Austin police are investigating the discovery of a dead body at an east Austin park as officer Austin Zarling says 911 got a call just before 5:45 p.m. from a person who found the body at bolm district park.
