I’m not one to pay attention to what other people do to influence what I’m drinking – but the recent annoucement of Cincinnati’s ‘HighBall’ in OTR got me wondering if this is a sign of people not wanting big drinks… or if it’s just a part of the natural ebb and flow of the bar industry. How does one solve a riddle such as this? You drink a big old HighBall, that’s how. We might be getting ahead of ourselves. To kick off this week’s episode of The Weekly Pint we’re continued the journey that is lovingly called the “rumination” – that is my journey thorough the world of rum (one glass at a time, of couse) with a taste of one that I haven’t been looking forward to: Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum. It might not come as a surprise to most of you who have tried it before – but it’s not very good. Lots of vanilla, very “fake” tasting… not something I’ll be chomping at the bit to try again any time soon. Evidently you’re supposed to put it with coke.
