The person seeking the Lord is a righteous man who loves God, knows he is a sinner, and believes in the work of Christ on the cross, following Him faithfully. The powerful prayer of this righteous man is very effective. James gives us the example of Elijah, who prayed for the rain to stop and then, three and a half years later, prayed for it to return. We must diligently pray for others in this same way. It brings encouragement and refreshment to the soul of the person for whom we pray - and to our own hearts. ________________________ When this is the day you want to righteously bring up your children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, then get so deeply acquainted with the Word of God that it is never far from your lips.
