Turkey is constructing a $350 million spaceport near Warsheikh on Somalia's Indian Ocean coast to secure strategic autonomy in space launches and establish a testing ground for its domestic defense program. The project, coordinated by the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) and officially launched after bilateral agreements between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
