ABOUT THE SPEAKERS Professor Abbas Milani is the Hamid and Christina Moghadam Director of Iranian Studies at Stanford University and a research fellow at the Hoover Institution. Professor Milani taught at Tehran University before 1986. He has written extensively on Iranian political development, US–Iran relations, and the ideology of the Islamic Republic. His work on the 1979 Revolution and the evolution of Iran’s ruling system informs debates over regime stability and the prospects for political change. H.R. McMaster is the Fouad and Michelle Ajami Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He is also the Bernard and Susan Liautaud Fellow at the Freeman Spogli Institute and lecturer at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
