“I’M NOT HERE TO PLEASE EARTH.” — Ryan Sheckler Shreds Haters for Faith Backlash
About this episode
Ryan Sheckler discusses his journey through fame, addiction, and faith with Tomi Lahren.
Skateboarding legend Ryan Sheckler is speaking up. After growing up in the spotlight and becoming one of the most recognizable faces of the MTV generation, Sheckler joins Tomi Lahren to open up about young fame, addiction, six years of sobriety, and the decision that completely changed his life: surrendering to Jesus Christ. He gets candid about the pushback he receives for his faith, why he’s no longer interested in pleasing his critics, and why he refuses to give up on California. Sheckler reflects on the tragic passing of Hayden Panettiere, whom he knew during their young-fame years, and opens up about trauma, vulnerability, and getting help when you’re struggling. He also gets personal about Justin Bieber, the pressures of extreme fame, why he continues to pray for him, and why he remains open to reconnecting with him. Learn more about your ad choices.
