As members of God's family, we need to understand who God, our Father, really is, and what He's really like. We also need to understand how He deals with believers under the New Covenant of Grace... so that we can also understand who He has made us to be, and how He has called and empowered us as believers to live. Believers were designed to receive, enjoy, and to manifest our Heavenly Father's grace. God's grace is His absolutely free lovingkindness. It's also understood to be God's unmerited favor. In other words, He delights to show us His goodness and favor just because He is good and because He loves us. We don't earn God's favor by being good; He simply chooses to favor us because of His great love for us.
