Two days later, a park ranger found him in the water — and the story the group told investigators started falling apart almost immediately. Multiple friends from the boat trip have given conflicting accounts of what happened on the island. The family says Nolan's Snapchat data was erased after his death. The FBI is conducting forensic analysis on his phone, and death threats tied to the case are under separate investigation.
