In March 1993, Debra Kayla Entwistle was murdered in her home in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Her former common-law partner Leonard Neveu confessed, led investigators to her remains, and admitted in an Edmonton courtroom that he killed her. He refused to plead guilty to second degree murder. The Attorney General’s office rejected a plea to manslaughter because the evidence was too strong. Parts of Debra have never been found.
